It is absolutely correct to prevent changelings from breaking this card or forcing players to find out how many creature types exist. It is awkward to name and exclude shapeshifters, but I think that's the best solution in a set that already has a bunch of shapeshifteres. For most sets, though, I'd just set a cap:

CARDNAME's power and toughness are equal to the number of different creature types among creatures you control, to a a maximum of 9/9.

It's a few more words, but less distracting, and also proof against some future Painter's Servant for creature types.Jay Treathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428861685923241850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-27786109887225176282016-12-12T11:39:53.695-05:002016-12-12T11:39:53.695-05:00I think this could be 1/1 +1/+1 and still be compe...I think this could be 1/1 +1/+1 and still be compelling, though I wouldn't be shocked if Dev pushed it to 1/2 for reasons. Also, these is the kind of card draw that White gets into, Bygone Bishop/Mentor of the Meek. The idea is she's reading the books to the animals which makes her audience bigger. With other creatures, she can spread her power out a little and potentially draw you even more cards. But she can't put a counter on the big creature you're choosing to draw cards from.
