It's actually better if you submit things you've been iterating on for a while, and WotC won't have seen any publicly posted work anyway.Jeremy Geisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07249133114127608655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-84753329151899843222021-10-11T07:22:36.068-04:002021-10-11T07:22:36.068-04:00Looks like some great prompts. Should I avoid this and how do I do so? Or is that ok for stuff like GDS?craftedlavahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10200241538546217243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-69482822857658103252021-10-10T17:11:41.786-04:002021-10-10T17:11:41.786-04:00Your tweak to Redundo is not my cup of tea. Your first version told a clearer story. Creating the parameters for a modal menu of activated abilities could lead to more than a few fun designs, so getting it right here allows for other cards in the future to exist. Eli was worried it would be a lot of work for many departments for one card, but I don't see it as a one off. Kind of the like the work they did with Outlaws' Merriment. Its modal token making can be used in a lot of future designs now that they've done the leg work for the template. I really just like stuff like this.Nich Graysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686832423418814443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-20478545796172922972021-10-09T14:57:16.923-04:002021-10-09T14:57:16.923-04:00I tweaked Redundo a bit for one of my articles if ...I tweaked Redundo a bit for one of my articles if you didn’t see it! http://goblinartisans.blogspot.com/2020/08/the-great-redesigner-search-circus.html

And Dragonclaw Trophy is cool but I agree with the judges that it should probably have been at common.Jeremy Geisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07249133114127608655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-52503027031517291072021-10-09T14:30:36.012-04:002021-10-09T14:30:36.012-04:00I spent the morning rereading your GDS3 submission...I spent the morning rereading your GDS3 submissions and I am really excited to see what you come up with now that you have the gig. Magic design has changed so much in the last few years, but your design sensibilities in GDS3 still felt good. I think you can keep the game on the right track.

My favorite cards from the reread were Redundo (love variations on modal like this) and Dragonclaw Trophy. (filter rocks with late game effects rock!)

Congrats on the job.

https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/great-designer-search-3-finalist-jeremy-geist-2018-03-09Nich Graysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686832423418814443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-2123644719397288782021-10-09T00:16:22.917-04:002021-10-09T00:16:22.917-04:00So exciting, congrats Jeremy!
