Cool Card Design of the Day
5/31/2017 - If an aura triggers when it's countered, that should kick into effect whether it's countered directly by your opponent's Negate, or indirectly by the game rules for lack of a target (because your opponent Murdered the creature you were trying to enchant).

CCDD 053017—Challenger's Glory et al
Cool Card Design of the Day
5/30/2017 - Normally, retrace is only appropriate on sorceries and instants because we don't want the same creature coming back too many times, but there's another permanent type that's infamous for its transience. What happens if we put retrace on auras?

5/26/2017 - Was messing with auras yesterday, primarily using flash to mitigate their risk of card disadvantage, and found a tribal line to explore.

CCDD 052517—Feed the Cluster
Cool Card Design of the Day
5/25/2017 - Spider Pack is replicate-for-spiders. You could apply any creature tribe to pack, for more tribal effects. You could alternately apply card types or colors. You could even remove all conditions and just have a version that lets you pay for any number of legal targets.

CCDD 051817—It's Dangerous
Cool Card Design of the Day
5/18/2017 - Started designing a Briarpack Alpha-à-la-carte spell only to discover it was just Savage Summoning with +2/+2 until EOT instead of a +1/+1 counter (and it was counterable), so I decided to explore a lower rarity version instead:

Cool Card Design of the Day
5/16/2017 - Here's a combat trick that repays its mana cost. Or untaps your creatures. It's slightly tribal, favoring elf decks, but usable in any green creature deck.

CCDD 050917—Ditch
Cool Card Design of the Day
5/9/2017 - Ditch is a smoothing mechanic. It's free, conditional cycling. Could go on anything (except planeswalkers… and it would be awkward on sorceries/instants since they're not the same type), but is ideal on land.

Cool Card Design of the Day
5/3/2017 - In Impact, Liliana demonstrates command over the undead; not just the ability to raise them, but to turn any undead to her own bidding. When I read that, I had to make this card:

CCDD 050217—Staff of Wisdom
Cool Card Design of the Day
5/2/2017 - Staff of Wisdom is a hybrid between color-fixing like Mana Prism and card advantage like Jayemdae Tome. I was thinking about ways to let a deck play out differently more, and using your opponent's deck is the perfect resource.
