Subtypes ...No, they're not :-> #BiggerMelvin
Subtypes are sometimes called types ("creature types" etc), but they don't matter as subtypes disappear when the associated type disappears. Neurok Transmuter making Ensouled Scimitar stop being an artifact will also remove type Equipment from it. But supertypes are not types, at least as far as the Comp Rules are concerned.
There's an argument to say they should be though... #EvenBiggerMelvin :)AlexChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05674122775216494431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-87284823134219232952014-10-21T17:50:09.731-04:002014-10-21T17:50:09.731-04:00Aren't supertypes and subtypes both subsets of...Aren't supertypes and subtypes both subsets of types? #MelvinJay Treathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428861685923241850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-65424438584535475012014-10-21T11:05:52.057-04:002014-10-21T11:05:52.057-04:00Yes, Legend rule will kick in. Does it invoke the Legend rule with a still-legendary new version of itself? Thankfully with the new legend rule that's not too much of a problem, but I don't intuitively know the answer. That's not true, as the Neurok Transmuter / Mycosynth Lattice / March of the Machines combo demonstrates: you *can* have permanents sitting there with no permanent types. This card is confusing in a slightly different way to the above, but it's born of a desire to take a similar approach to Darksteel Mutation or indeed Lignify, just not leaving the target being even a creature.AlexChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05674122775216494431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-45030310886986312782014-10-21T06:49:03.553-04:002014-10-21T06:49:03.553-04:00I like where you're going with this.I like where you're going with this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-32695190579193212112014-10-20T21:41:11.537-04:002014-10-20T21:41:11.537-04:00All of these seem more awkward than the existing f...All of these seem more awkward than the existing functionality.
