Interesting. For some reason it doesn't strike me as particularly exciting or resonant but that's just my personal taste. Very much a fan of the templating innovation here, though.lpaulsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772860908442278112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-79873697815736510482021-06-22T22:56:07.628-04:002021-06-22T22:56:07.628-04:00Cool! Power level also seems well chosen, since it's a choice between slightly weaker versions of Mystic Snake and Talrand's Invocation.lpaulsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772860908442278112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-44909616267348467422021-06-22T22:51:16.049-04:002021-06-22T22:51:16.049-04:00These are great! (Adanto Vanguard was a color pie bend specifically for a BW tribe with a lifegain / life-payment theme.) Mechanically my main reaction is that I want these to be swingier. The Illusionist in particular feels like it should reward you for doing Jace-y things rather than just being two bears.lpaulsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772860908442278112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-75472450861464493632021-06-22T22:41:58.235-04:002021-06-22T22:41:58.235-04:00"Blocks" triggers are tricky, because wh..."Blocks" triggers are tricky, because whether you get value from them is totally up to the opponent. If they decide not to attack into Young Healer you're just sitting there with two open mana and two creatures that didn't do anything useful this turn. So I have the opposite concern as zefferal-- I wonder if it might not be impactful enough by this cycle's standards.

No objection to the card otherwise, though! Cool text box and a great encapsulation of Ajani's attitude.lpaulsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772860908442278112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-52280218318413951542021-06-21T10:52:34.190-04:002021-06-21T10:52:34.190-04:00I really like the top down approach over here, and...I really like the top down approach over here, and the vulnerability of it while it protects another. I wonder if it might be a little too good in control, drawing out unwinnable games a little too long. Playtesting would tell us whether the 2 mana trigger cost is enough.zefferalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13845251416516553492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-21737060693343582012021-06-17T06:08:55.237-04:002021-06-17T06:08:55.237-04:00Expanding the "until" clause seems like ...Expanding the "until" clause seems like neat design space design space :)Isaohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04032882984602067306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-13782710950114272802021-06-14T13:14:32.912-04:002021-06-14T13:14:32.912-04:00Young Heiromancer 2W
