Limiting the mana to a specific type/color just seems like more of a headache than its worth.Wobbleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11494097707732649864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-83022382650946562882013-05-22T13:25:31.749-04:002013-05-22T13:25:31.749-04:00Looks like we could go two ways with this.

I'm drawn more the demon/wurm version since it tells a better story.Jay Treathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428861685923241850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-48867379589027253022013-05-22T12:50:38.625-04:002013-05-22T12:50:38.625-04:00I like it! Why does this reduce the cost of spells instead of just adding mana to your mana pool?

Goblin fodder (You may sacrifice this permanent to add 1R to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast a Goblin spell.)

You could even do "only to cast Goblin spells" which is quite exciting. And that helps with the card disadvantage, Metaghost talked about.

Nich Graysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686832423418814443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-40350833588754250052013-05-22T12:42:46.651-04:002013-05-22T12:42:46.651-04:00I like it, but I think you could template it bette...I like it, but I think you could template it better:

Sacrifice this creature: Add its mana cost to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast spells that share a creature type with it. Mana costs include color.

You can just call it "Fodder" this way.Basshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14796834860620921124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-78649531480556827462013-05-21T22:56:10.687-04:002013-05-21T22:56:10.687-04:00Dragon Fodder! ...oh wait, that's a card.Dragon Fodder! ...oh wait, that's a card.lpaulsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772860908442278112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-85221184964849064472013-05-21T19:00:26.540-04:002013-05-21T19:00:26.540-04:00Demon fodder on a black Cleric would make sense.Demon fodder on a black Cleric would make sense.Chahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15574587448667619081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-23712231180401062592013-05-21T18:54:24.220-04:002013-05-21T18:54:24.220-04:00Right; ideally a mechanic like this would be in a ...Right; ideally a mechanic like this would be in a tribal-oriented environment built around a small/large pairing, which would work much like Onslaught blocks creature/class system.

I think that this also needs to learn from Devour and Offering before it and provide some additional incentive to offset the card disadvantage. Something as simple as providing a +1/+1 counter may be enough, and reinforce the concept of feeding the larger creature.metaghosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18301191638894756414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-58146129268666546222013-05-21T18:35:00.349-04:002013-05-21T18:35:00.349-04:00In general I think this should be [Big-Creature-Ty...In general I think this should be [Big-Creature-Type] Fodder.
