Whether or not that means it's printable, I don't know. But it's certainly dangerous.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11393054869276886509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-75934421518209435212015-04-15T16:07:14.177-04:002015-04-15T16:07:14.177-04:00Blue isn't supposed to generate colored mana, ...Blue isn't supposed to generate colored mana, but Scholar of AEther looks appealing to Johnny/Jenny. I'd say put it in {G}{U} and rely on Invasive Species to make cohesive decks. That said, as it is it doesn't do a very good job of hosing opposing bounce on during combat/end step/upkeep/other turns or work very well with Roaring Primadox. I could see letting players find the combo with Flash creatures themselves, but it's also not out of the question to stick some sort of Scout's Warning on here.

Silent Mist tweaks sound wise. Alternate wording based on Brutal Suppression: Spells cost an additional "Return a permanent you control to its owner's hand" to cast.Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13784920130399590671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-8926864049847527832015-04-15T14:19:34.693-04:002015-04-15T14:19:34.693-04:00Silent Mist doesn't appeal to me as a player. ...Silent Mist doesn't appeal to me as a player. I agree, it seems too oppressive. Letting it ignore land drops not only eases that burden, but also creates an organic way to interact with/through it. I like that version Much More (both as a designer and as a player).

Scholar of Aether does generate colorless mana. If you would add mana to your mana pool with a hybrid mana symbol, you choose which color to add. Those rules already exist, but since they've never been used, reminder text would be helpful.Jay Treathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428861685923241850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-26753770865805054892015-04-15T14:16:10.127-04:002015-04-15T14:16:10.127-04:00Agreed. It's one of the biggest reasons to be sad they didn't make more sorcery subtypes right from the beginning, so that we can group cards with similar flavor/effects and key off of them.Jay Treathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09428861685923241850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5479847193762153273.post-74608769291803103762015-04-15T14:14:35.845-04:002015-04-15T14:14:35.845-04:00Silent Mist seems pretty problematic as is. I think it would be better if it didn't trigger on land drops.

Does Scholar of Aether generate colorless mana?
