Readers, you submitted a truly amazing
thirty-five pitches for the second round of the set selection process! We're all quite excited by the level of audience engagement in this project. We're also going to be swamped reading and judging all these designs for the next several days. I can't make any promises about the exact length of time it'll take to finish; despite our love for Goblin Artisans, we've got day jobs and enough geographic separation that it isn't feasible to lock ourselves in a conference room until the decision gets made. But rest assured, we are extremely grateful for your ideas, and look forward to reading all of them.
Thank you Havelock, could you give us a hint of the next round challenge, or something to discuss in the meantime ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for the other people that took part in the contest, if anyone has submitted something, they could post it in the respective comments of the set they submitted it for, for example?
I personally would love to see multiple comments on the submissions received, like in the original GDSs. And any more general entries by the judges on how they perceive this, and what they learn from it would also be very interesting.
Keep up the good work!
I expect this'll be a great place to use the wiki!
DeleteMy current plan (which is subject to change) is that next round's challenge will be very similar to this round, except you'll be incorporating one of the recommended pitches and designing cards that make sense with it.
DeleteAlso, I believe we're planning to post all the pitches on the wiki.
That's an impressive number, you all have quite the job ahead of you, thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in reading others' submissions as well, and added a link to my submission on the wiki.
That is quite the step up (more than double) from the numbers that were given earlier. Wonder how many people submitted multiple pitches (I ended up sending two myself).
ReplyDeleteWow! That's fantastic! I'm glad this competition is shaping up nicely. Congrats, Artisans!
ReplyDeleteThank you! But, appearances aside, it's not a competition; the best designs will not necessarily "win".
DeleteI would also suggest adding a link to the contest's wiki on the side column on the right in the blog, for easy access.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion. I added a link named "2012 Set Design Project Wiki" right under "Add us on Facebook" and above "Other Game Design Blogs."
DeleteThe proposals are up on the wiki it seems...
ReplyDeleteIs that a sign of the apocalypse or of the comming of the results, I wonder.
Mostly a sign of Chah being AWESOME, I imagine.
DeleteSeriously, Chah, thanks.
