Weekend Design Challenge 021221 - Valentine

Hey Artisans! Click through to see this weekend's design challenge. Your mission is to design a custom magic card that follows the guidelines. Over the course of the weekend, give feedback to your fellow designers on their designs and incorporate their feedback to iterate on your own. I'll try to offer some feedback of my own starting on Monday.

Design a card with some thematic connection to Valentine's Day. Bonus points if its color identity is red and white.

Good luck and have fun!

CARDNAME deals 2 damage to target creature. That creature attacks or blocks this turn if able. Prevent all damage it would deal this turn.

    1. This reminds me of Mugging, which felt like a design failure because it was secretly a modal spell-- for any given target you were either getting value from the 2 damage or the "can't block", but not both. Cupid's Arrow turns that around by making the effects synergize: now the 2 damage is likely to matter even when it doesn't kill the target, because you can finish it off in combat for free. On top of that, the flavor is spot-on and the mechanical identity is very persuasively RW. Really excellent work!
