  1. Martial-arts set with combat-matters and Voltron themes? I could get on board with this! Right now it's got a fascinating Kamigawa-meets-Theros feel.

  2. this would be a really cool set. Im guess int this is ancient china inspired? I love the idea for crane style as an enchantment. really cool that i can teach any of my creatures martial arts after watching the crane in battle. Maybe this set is on the same plane as portal 3 kingdoms? would be a great time for some much needed reprints...

    1. Portal: Three Kingdoms is more or less set in the real world, since it's based on a historical novel. I wouldn't want to go that way with this set. If we use a Chinese martial arts world, it should be heavy on the fantasy elements so that it still feels like Magic.

  3. This is certainly new design space for DFCs, but I'm not seeing the payoff in this design. In Innistrad, transforming a card was a really exciting (sometimes game-defining) moment. Here, we get a mild combat buff.

  4. My guess is that the effect of whirling nunchucks will be the effect of rebranded bushido when that happens (also being rebranded rampage)

    1. Also I belive that no-shadow kick should be an uncommon due to power level rather than complexity.

Also also there should be a mechanic that encourages gang blocking to make the kick and nunchuck theme more relevant. You can call it "mook" to be on theme

    2. An almost-strictly-better version of No-Shadow Kick (Fall of the Hammer) has been spoiled for Born of the Gods at common.
