Cool Card Design of the Day 7/16/2014 - A dirt simple update to Konda's Banner, intended to give any color access to a Glorious Anthem effect, inspired by the M15 Paragons.
Flavor—no one's inspired by a leader who sits the battle out—and Risk—you have to risk your leader to enjoy the boost. I felt that was needed to justify the ease of playing this in any deck comprised of any combination of colors.
I don't have much to say besides I like this a lot.
ReplyDeleteMerits of the trigger vs. having a static "As long as Battle Standard is equipped, creatures you control gain +1/+1"?

DeleteThis makes me think of the colorless spells idea that pops up every now and again.

ReplyDeleteBattle Standard - 2
ReplyDeleteArtifact - Equipment - (RARE)
At the beginning of combat on your turn, creatures that share a colour with the equipped creature gain Vigilance until end of turn.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, other creatures you control get +1+1 until end of turn.
Equip: 2
There already IS a colorless battle anthem. And it even works without equipping. It's Hall of Triumphs.
ReplyDeleteI really like it, though I'd prefer it was just attacks.
