CCDD 091715—Gorgoid Howler
Cool Card Design of the Day9/17/2015 - This design came from the art. It does raise an interesting question of how much we can mess with races. I would balk to see an elf beast, but perhaps we can define gorgonism in Magic (or even just on one plane) as a condition that can affect more than just humanoid or sentient beings. And in that model, deathtouch needn't be a foregone conclusion. The end result is expanding a minor tribe, and in new directions. But does it go too far?

CCDD 010313—Jade Constrictor
Cool Card Design of the Day1/3/2013 - There's nothing too crazy here. It occurred to me that all of the snakes in Magic, none really hit the constrictor concept. Krosan Constrictor kind of does, but the black-only targeting requirement is so lame. Boa Constrictor is… a stretch. You could argue that Kashi-Tribe Warriors and their clan have a constricting effect—and they could have—but it's clearly poison that's making their wrestling buddies so sluggish.

CCDD 032311—Lady of the Forked Tongue
Cool Card Design of the Day3/23/2011 - Who doesn't like a crazy snake lady? Apart from men, women and snakes, I mean. This is no Deranged Hermit or Thelonite Hermit, but on the other hand, it is a crazy snake lady.
