Top-down from this art. I like the flavor a lot.
Softheart Serpent personifies the high match-up variance that islandhome and islandwalk have been stricken for, though it's actually reversed, so it's good most of the time, but bad against merfolk decks. In Limited, I'm 100% okay with that. For Constructed, much less so.
Which is why I tackled the flavor from another direction:

Softheart Serpent makes me think something like "prevent all damage ~ would deal to creatures with power and toughness 2 or less".
ReplyDeleteI like Lonely Serpent a lot better. Softheart Serpent is just recreating Intimidate, which I think is gone for good reason.
