CCDD 052412—Fog of War

Cool Card Design of the Day
5/24/2012 -This one was top-down. I was thinking about the fog of war mechanic from RTS games while working on a StarCraft deck-building game and for whatever reason, this card occurred to me as an elegant, fairly resonant execution that could make exciting, if not interesting, gameplay.

This would likely be more annoying than neat in an average set, and probably is only fun or fair in a multicolor or hybrid set where most creatures are blockable by an extra color and most creatures can block an extra color.

  1. Now you know what this would work really well as? A plane in Planechase.

Not sure about Chaos Dice effect. Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control?

    1. That would be better, wouldn't it? Nice.

    2. I do like designing planes. Effects for an effects deck were always fun to find. If you were going for a starcraft feel:

      Hidden Plane
      Creatures have intimidate
@: Put 5 0/1 colorless Pylon artifact creature tokens onto the battlefield.

  2. I am strongly against using the word "fog" in a card that's not a fog.
