7/5/2016 - This is not a spoiler for Eldritch Moon, it's a response to a design challenge Zefferal tweeted:
Thursday's #AskAnArtisan. Make an #MTGEMN card for this art and I'll offer critique. #MTGDesign #Liliana pic.twitter.com/j1KkXJkB8i— Jay Zeffren (@zefferal) June 30, 2016
The goal is that only as many zombies would fight the target as needed to kill it.

Wobbles suggests Master of the Wild Hunt as our precedent template. Fair.
ReplyDeleteI was also thinking that.
DeleteI like the idea a lot. But even with MWH template, it seems creating creatures which then immediately get killed could be replaced with a simpler card that just creates half as many zombies and has them do one-sided damage, or something like that. That's not quite the same card because it doesn't have the flexibility of killing a small creature or a larger one, but a "kill + make creatures" card is quite splashy already, and might be noticeable simpler.
Wow Jack's suggestion is amazingly, creepily similar to Dark Salvation, the actual new card spoiled today...!
