Choosing the list of abilities was surprisingly tricky. Tapping was a natural choice but wants to be activated before declaring attackers or blockers. Meanwhile several other natural choices-- stat boosts, damage prevention, protection granting, and the Heavy Ballista ability-- are most effective after attackers or blockers are set. Also, those effects all do very similar things and create board complexity, so I was wary of including more than one. The last ability I found for the card was Thraben Heretic's-- I hadn't realized that any white creature had it as a tap ability.
