Weekend Design Challenge 100220 - Have You Seen This Goblin?
Happy Friday, Artisans! Click through to see this weekend's design challenge. Your mission is to design a custom magic card that follows the guidelines. Over the course of the weekend, give feedback to your fellow designers on their designs and incorporate their feedback to iterate on your own. I'll try to offer some feedback of my own starting on Monday.

CCDD 08202020 - Krenko's Big Move
I had a long twitter conversation about the best Goblins last night, and that got me thinking about having a central Goblin villain in a story. Krenko is the closest existing contender, but we never get to see him do something truly despicable on screen. I came up with a story beat that might escalate him to villain status, and I came up with a story spotlight card for the set where it happens.

CCDD 100418—Goblin Liaison

Here's a design I apparently saved from Zefferal's 2016 Goblin Game.
This design came about top-down, but it suggests a vein of anti-tribal design. What merit does such a vein contain?

CCDD 110117—Goblin Cheerleader & Goblin Cheer Captain

11/1/2017 - Here's a wildly simplified Goblin Bushwhacker.

CCDD 012617—Goblin Upstart

1/25/2017 - In November, I was thinking about how great monstrosity is (because it's a kicker effect that you don't strand in hand waiting for full value). It also makes for a great solution to keeping one-drops relevant later in the game.

6/20/2016 - A tribal card.

CCDD 040616—Goblin Elder

4/6/2016 - Here's a creature card based on the cycle-from-play land from yesterday. Another way to make one-drops playable.

CCDD 121715—Goblin Ritesinger

12/17/2015 - I envision what "Drawblin" might look like after listening to Re-Making Magic episodes 42 and 43.

CCDD 071315—Goblins Opportunist, Stormtrooper, Sniper & Huntsman

6/10/2015 - I think there's a small but useful vein of design space in Illusory Angel's "only if you've cast another spell this turn" mechanic, and I think red is the place to use it (because red is where lots-of-cheap-spells and storm intersect).

CCDD 021015—Goblin Socialite

2/10/2015 - The red version of Elvish Visionary. Or, if you prefer, a mono-red Burning-Tree Emissary for common.
Thursday, January 22, 2015
CCDD 012215—Vengeance Howler

1/22/2015 - Vengeance Howler is mostly a top-down design, meant to express red's rage and grief at the loss of its comrades. While it fits naturally into an aggro deck, it can also be used to dissuade an opponent from storming in when you've got a lot of little dudes on defense.

CCDD 091014—Meadhome Guardian

9/10/2014 - Was thinking how Goblins are the most common tribe to get tribal mechanics in any given set, and wanted to explore a way to turn that on its head. Meadhome Guardian could be {2}{W} and even common, depending on the set.

Assault the Boggart Warrens: An MtG Challenge Deck
I'm going to let you all in on a secret: I don't play nearly as much Magic as I wish I could.
I used to. I had two roommates who were down for games whenever, but nowadays I have a family and more demands on my time. I try to make it out to a Tuesday Night Draft when I can, but the fact is I enjoy casual-constructed formats a lot more (EDH, Planechase, and kitchen table decks). It doesn't matter that I rarely get a chance to play them. I still routinely build decks and tweak them.

8/15/2013 - Another one drop. Does outclassing Raging Goblin mean Goblin Enthusiast can't be common?

CCDD 052113—Goblin Fodder

5/21/2013 - What if Patron of the Akki weren't the only thing you could sacrifice goblins to cast earlier?
