CCDD 092420 - Phyrexian Control Center

This is a lot more powerful than most cards that make token armies-- Birthing Boughs, say-- but it comes with a critical (and flavorful) weakness.

CCDD 022920 - Mama Bear

Bear with Set's Mechanic has become such a design cliche that it's now an official joke card. But it's a cliche for a reason. Sometimes the best way to show off a neat bread-and-butter mechanic idea really is to put it on a bear.

CCDD 112918 -- Create Triggers

CCDD 090617—prism

Cool Card Design of the Day
9/6/2017 - Prism is going to look underwhelming in the light of Ixalan's treasure tokens, but it's not hard to imagine a block that wants similar color-fixing without the danger of mana rituals. And this is much safer and cheaper to put on cards.

CCDD 072716—Alleytown and friends

Cool Card Design of the Day
7/27/2016 - I designed Alleytown after the colored cycle, but it's the only one that does just what I wanted: A simple land that sacks into a small creature for a reasonable price.

CCDD 030215—Peasant Army

Cool Card Design of the Day
3/2/2015 - It'll be a bit before the WAC review goes up, so here's a CCDD for now. Peasant Army is directly inspired by Pasteur's Arm the Masses.

CCDD 110414—Sliver Breeders

Cool Card Design of the Day
11/4/2014 - Here's a novel way to do slivers. Given how mechanically different it is from existing slivers, it likely makes more sense to use breed on another type of creature, but thematically it's perfect for slivers, so that's how I'll present it for now:

CCDD 091412—Parasitosmosis

Cool Card Design of the Day
9/14/2012 - Fungal Sprouting rewards you for having a big creature. That's a good thing. Players enjoy big creatures and it does the game good to reinforce fun strategies. That said, every* strategy needs a counter strategy, which got me thinking about a version of the card that cares about your opponent's biggest creature. One logical twist later and you've got two new cards:
