Cool Card Design of the Day
7/27/2011 - I don't have much time to chat today, so I'll just post this idea and admit that it has the same problem as Diminish (that was solved by Turn to Frog). Potentially we could add "each creature loses all abilities" but then it starts to feel more green (like Pervasive Instinct and King Predator).
This card is wacky.
ReplyDeleteI like it. Simple and intuitive.
ReplyDeletePretty cool. Considering Mirror Entity, this effect is kosher. Though I wouldn't mind a g/u hybrid that takes away the abilities.
ReplyDeleteAlso I am strongly inclined to think that this wording applies to creatures that enter the battlefield after this resolves. I don't know what makes the distinction -- the "is"/"becomes" or the "until end of turn"/"this turn".
Should probably read "For each creature, that creature is X/X this turn, where X is that creature's converted mana cost."
ReplyDeleteOtherwise very cool.
Also, @ first anon: the continuous effect that a card like this generates will never see a card that etb's later.
ReplyDeleteThis is just me, but I think blue should have troubles dealing with creature tokens.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean you wish tokens didn't "die" when they get bounced?
ReplyDeleteThat this kills tokens would rarely effect any format other than EDH, excepting a token-oriented block. Which isn't going to happen.
Nope, I mean that blue shouldn't be able to destroy an entire army of tokens with a single spell. That's something I can see Red, Black, and White doing, but not blue.
