Just a heads up, over the next few weeks I hope to move out of the comments section and ONTO THE MAIN SITE with my project Fakecrash. Fakecrash will be one take at designing Gatecrash, based on what we know now and my own personal whims.
Over the course of the project, I expect to receive feedback and design suggestions from all of the contributors, readers and lurkers of this fine sight. Discussion has already begun on Twitter, where you can follow me @wobbles or the project (when there's room for a hashtag) at #fakecrash. For what it's worth, I already have some sketches of Guild mechanics, lands (easy), and artifacts (harder). These mechanics have been partially culled from other designers, and you may already be awinner co-designer. The next few posts will detail these more in depth, and you'll all be able to offer suggestions. It may even inspire you towards your own version of Fakecrash, which would be awesome to see.
One of the real advantages of designing based on an upcoming set is that it accounts for the rampant speculation of the community, and it gives easy feedback when you can see how the actual set diverged from the product of your own frenzied imagination.
How close will we come?
Honk, Honk,
