Huh, interesting combination. http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/card-duty-part-1-2014-07-07 says R&D decided "creature on library" was blue (with white a second choice, and not B or G). But I guess you could argue, putting your OWN creature on your library could be a G exception?
This is normally going to be disappointing, it's like unsummoning your own creature, except in a slightly different order -- getting a card now is useful, but drawing your old creature next turn will be disappointing. And you're still behind on the battlefield after spending a card.
And green already has "gain hexproof UEOT" for "modern avoid fate".
But I feel like this has to have a home somewhere. Maybe a creature with "when this becomes the target of a spell or ability, you may put it on top of its owner's library" like a lesser hexproof?

Not strictly worse than Unsummon... but pretty darn close, and a lot less flexible.
ReplyDeleteMaybe make it more exciting by making the ability "Put it into your library below any number of cards (including 0). Draw a card."
DeleteYeah, I agree this looks pretty disappointing.
ReplyDeleteIn combination with red or blue stealing effects it's rather better, I guess. But I don't think that's the niche Jay was shooting for.
I love this. But I'd make it White.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This feels like a white card.
