9/15/2017 - The impetus of this design was to punish your opponent for hurting you and reward you for playing into black's masochism.
I left it on an enchantment for purity, but it might need to be a creature ability so the opponent can interact it with. Otherwise, it probably needs to cost 4 mana or so.
This made me think of the Dark Confidant and I decided to try and parallel that:
Where Bob guarantees you a card and hurts you proportionally, this card forces you to do the work (of getting hurt) and guarantees you nothing in return. It can also draw you a card every turn for no extra cost. (Again, costs and card type are likely to change in Dev.)

It's so interesting to see that the Enrage mechanic is in Naya for Ix. It'll be interesting top see if it bleeds into black, which seems like a natural fit.
ReplyDeleteGiven that:
Comeuppance 2RR
Enchantment
Whenever you're dealt combat damage, exile the top card of your library. You may play that card without paying it's mana cost as long as it has a converted mana cost of X or less, where X is the amount of combat damage you were dealt.
I might be missing something but the first one seems like something fine to print at enchantment - 1B. I'd even test it at B (or B & 5 life) to see.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm just not convinced.
