Of all the colors, red should be the last one to create a board stall. The fear of retribution is so high that more often than not this will lead to draw go situations while the other side builds towards its alpha strike.
It feels awkward that you get the bonus the turn you play this, since I imagine it mostly just gets used as an Overrun after you were attacked while this was still in your hand and your opponent didn't know it was coming.

ReplyDeleteCould this be boros, or mono-W?
Boros I could buy.
DeleteI'd also argue that being able to stall the board is the thing Red has needed for a long time.
Hulking Devil, et. al. Red can stall the board if it needs to, it just doesn't especially benefit from it, since its speed is core to its identity.
DeleteYou've got to have a few attackers ready for this to prevent your opponent from wanting to hit you.
DeleteIt's entirely possible haste and trample are too much. Without that, this is just a conditional, repeatable Trumpet Blast.
You can always pair it with siren effects.

ReplyDeleteShould this be changed? Can it be?
"When ~ attacks, if you were attacked since your last turn, creatures you control get..."
DeleteDefinitely feels more red this way!
I'd playtest it before changing that.
DeleteI was thinking that it was strange that you get this on the turn that you are being attacked. It gives all of your blocking creatures +2/+0
DeleteOh. I completely missed that. Good call.
DeleteYeah, that's no good. I'd def change that.
