I think this is a fun space for black to dip into more often, but I would make it ETB tapped. Discouraging an infinite blocker seems to be the norm on similar cards like Reassembling Skeleton, Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, and Veilborn Ghoul.
Fun added synergy over Mortus Strider! That said, the comparison is apt. This ability shouldn't come with more than one power unless it's on a rare because it will make opponents give up on attacking.
