Cool Card Design of the Day
2/4/2016 - This demon is fine with you making a sacrifice to summon it, but really it just need a soul to travel from the world of the living to the world of the dead so it can sneak back in. The demon will tell you it wants to help you get revenge for your fallen minions, but it really just wants to be free.
It is a little undemonlike to have the extra cost upfront an not something that will punish you over time. I'm not saying every demon has that kind of drawback, but that is what I expect when I see large flying demon for 4.
ReplyDeleteI'm not thrilled about a 4 mana 6 power flier appearing at Rare for limited sake (it isn't like playing this turn 4 is that arduous).
ReplyDeleteIt feels more Demon-y if requires more than just a single death.
Also, Retribution is pretty White. Are you sure this isn't an Angel?
Change the name, and yes I am.
DeleteIf you're not sacking creatures, and your opponent want to play around it, the requirement is plenty. Just them playing around it is plenty.
You can't ask limited players to play around a Rare they haven't seen. Make it more like a Quest for the Gravelord that only cares about your creatures dying and I'm in.
DeleteYou can in games 2 and 3.
DeleteThere's a definitely a design or two in your suggestions as well.
It could alternatively be done as a cost-reduction mechanic, similar to Ghoultree or Nemesis of Mortals
ReplyDeleteDemon 6BB
Flying
~ costs 2 less to cast for each creature you control that died this turn.

Yup. Not bad at all.
