I kind of like the idea of the tutor being an ETB effect. After all, it is in the rock formation! I do think it should exile the creature face down so the opponent doens't know what it is though.
When ~ etbs, search your library for a card and exile it face down under ~. Shuffle your library. 2, T: Put a charge counter on ~. Then, you may sacrifice this and reveal the card exiled under it. If the revealed card is a creature with converted mana cost equal to the number of charge counters on ~, you may put it onto the battlefield.
I like that idea - and losing the bomb if your artifact is disenchanted - but boy is it a mouthful. Any better templates to resolve this simple idea into simpler words?
