Cool Card Design of the Day
6/13/2017 - I forget exactly how this design came about, but it was definitely intended to be a smaller, more limited Aether Adept. The result is more efficient early, better for tempo or aggro builds, but has lower potential to impact the late game.
As I was posting that, I felt like a name that weird deserved a more special effect, and indeed wants to interact well with jellyfish (which relatively recently became its own creature type again), so made this:
I was tempted to instead interact with bounce effects (something like "If you would return a permanent to an opponent's hand, put it on top of that player's library instead") but jellyfish tribal just felt right.
"Whenever a creature is returned to its owners hand, you may pay U. If you do, create a 2/1 blue Jellyfish" or similar could be another bonus.
ReplyDeleteReally like the first design - you could also do power or toughness as well. I might make it "another" - though Whitemane Lion proves that's not necesssary.
I like that effect.
DeleteYeah, the fact that you have to pay to keep re-casting it makes that okay.
