designer.CCDD 052617—Spider Sense
Cool Card Design of the Day5/26/2017 - Was messing with auras yesterday, primarily using flash to mitigate their risk of card disadvantage, and found a tribal line to explore.

CCDD 052517—Feed the Cluster
Cool Card Design of the Day5/25/2017 - Spider Pack is replicate-for-spiders. You could apply any creature tribe to pack, for more tribal effects. You could alternately apply card types or colors. You could even remove all conditions and just have a version that lets you pay for any number of legal targets.

CCDD 052417—Ambush Spider
Cool Card Design of the Day5/24/2017 - Fixing Qasali Ambusher and Giant Trap Door Spider by merging them.

CCDD 052217—Pack Spider
Cool Card Design of the Day5/22/2017 - If solitary spiders aren't disturbing enough, consider the spider colonies of Peru. Here's a less disturbing card.

CCDD 082316—Drachnid Widow
Cool Card Design of the Day8/23/2016 - Larger flash creatures have to be expensive because of their potential card advantage. Giving a creature reach at instant speed is much cheaper, because it relies on you having a creature available to block. Drachnid Widow skirts the line, letting you block a small flier by itself, or a large one if you've got something bigger already.

CCDD 011515—Double & Poly Spider
Cool Card Design of the Day1/15/2015 - Double Spider is tall.
Poly Spider is just big.

CCDD 061714—Slingshot Spider
Cool Card Design of the Day6/17/2014 - It's pretty awkward that this art shows the spider attacking an earth-bound target, but I was lucky to find a fantasy illustration of a spider at all. I can only suffer so many macro photographs of real spiders before I lose the ability to sleep, or keep my feet under the desk.

CCDD 053013—Ambush Spider
Cool Card Design of the Day5/30/2013 - Tangle Spider deserves a power-level update. In honor of Giant Trap Door Spider. Alternately, Qasali Ambusher needs a simpler, mono-color version.

CCDD 041211—Aranax, Spider Queen
Cool Card Design of the Day4/12/2011 - This one goes out to Mr. Jon Becker, my favorite Philly-based pro player, and fellow Magic spider enthusiast. And by enthusiast, I mean, Jon is far-and-away the most vocal proponent for spiders in Magic (possibly the only one, of such reknown).
