Cool Card Design of the Day
3/3/2017 - Here's a bonus CCDD I made before MaRo's review of dual lands,
but is sure relevant to the filter lands he discussed.
Graven Cairns is a little too good. Shadowblood Ridge is little too weak. I think Bad Cairns fits nicely between them. (There are other decent options, like Ridge plus {T}:{C}.)
I was tempted to share the below version because it's aesthetically pleasing, but not enough to justify its awkwardness:
I think the M11 lands are the logical evolution of filter lands.
ReplyDeleteThat said, If like to see something like this:
T: Add B to you mana pool
T: Add R or U to your mana pool. Activate this ability only if you control a basic swamp.
I love the aesthetics of the second Bad Cairns. Why did you decide to make the mana switch what it produces instead of amplifying (B makes RR instead of BB)? I can see merit for each option, but I'm curious what others think are the relevant reasons.
ReplyDeleteIf it only amplifies, than it isn't fixing your mana like most dual lands; it only helps you to cast spells with heavy colored mana requirements.
